Welcome

Welcome to the Neighbourhood Plan for the parish of Barwick in Elmet and Scholes

Background

The Barwick in Elmet and Scholes Neighbourhood Plan has been prepared by the Barwick in Elmet and Scholes Neighbourhood Plan Steering Committee on behalf of Barwick in Elmet and Scholes Parish Council. The journey commenced on 7 November 2011 when the Parish Council resolved to commission a Neighbourhood Plan and on 7 November 2016 passed a resolution to submit the Plan to Leeds City Council for progress to examination, referendum and adoption as a Statutory Planning Document.

The plan has now completed its Regulation 16 Consultation (carried out by Leeds City Council) and will shortly be submitted to the Planning Inspector for examination.

The Parish Council would like to thank all those who contributed to the Neighbourhood Plan and acknowledge their participation. The many residents who came forward to support the Plan and give their views and knowledge towards the Evidence Base during the five years it has taken to write.
